First things first!
Home improvements can be a very fun and gratifying experience, however, it can also turn into a nightmare. When problems arise the root of the problems caused can usually be traced right to the homeowners themselves for not doing their homework! Here are some basic steps, term definitions, and some red flags to look for!
First things first! Any Contractor must have a Contractor’s license supplied by the California State License Board. The information listed with the CSLB contains Bond and Workers Comp. information, owners, license classifications (C-39 for roofing), along with other information about your potential contractor. If you do business with an unlicensed contractor you will have no recourse if there are any problems.
The BBB is an excellent resource for checking out a potential contractor. They provide a company’s record with the BBB and can alert you to potential scams to be wary of.

Click here or to the right for the info.
Get Three Referrals!
A contractor should be able to provide 3 referrals of recent work. Satisfied homeowners are usually more than willing to talk about there positive experiences in dealing with their contractors. Ask for roof’s with different styles and colors to better help you make a decision!
Check the suppliers!
One of the most common problems homeowners encounter is when your contractor does not pay the material bills for your project. A lien is put on your home. It happens all the time. One thing you can do is ask your potential contractor about who will supply the materials. A reputable contractor will gladly give you their name and number. Simply call the supplier and ask about their payment history with them. Our main suppliers are Roof Line Supply (559) 456-1309 and ABC Supply (559) 251- 6263.
